Look! I can be crafty, too!

I'm always looking for a creatvie outlet. Though I love to write and paint, I completely lack the talent... doesn't stop me though! Lately I've been itchy to be crafty. I see so many crafty mama's out there and I get so jealous, because WOW, look at that awesome knitted hat and look at that super cool sock monkey and holy cow your kid's handmade valentines are waaaaay cool. I've messed around with a few crafty things, and a drawer filled with scraps of colorful paper, stickers, stenils etc. means that scrapbooking is one of them:

I even dabbled a bit in beading and jewelry making (and heaven knows I have hundred and thousands of assorted beads lying around in tupperware containers to prove this):

Now, my latest endeavor: Knitting!

I bought myself a knitting book, 2 sets of needles, and... some other crap that I have no clue what to do with. Oh yeah, and cheap yarn to learn with. I want to make wild, crazy, funky hats and scarves! I've even started a Knitting Blog, because, well I'm a dork like that.

I'm going to leave you with one last picture, a screenshot of my laptop desktop... because I think it's cute and awesome!

I think knitting is one cult I'd like to join, but I'm all thumbs. And, we know that it is all fun and games until someone loses an eye.

I bought myself that exact knitting book a few months ago because I was itching to teach myself to knit socks! I ended up knitting one pair of socks--two socks, two completely different sizes! Hope you have better luck than I did.

www.knittinghelp.com. I swear by it. (Not that the little sweater is actually finished yet, but it could be if I would stop spending so much time blogging.)
